Craps-
Don't Pass and Don't Pass Plus Laying The Odds
|
-Don't Pass-
A bettor on "don't come" is referred
tp as a wrong or back-line bettor. The house pays 1-to-1 when
the shooter bets on don't pass. The terms are opposite of
the "pass" bet. The only exception is that the house
will not pay for all three of the come-out craps. They usually
consider 2 or 12 as a stand-off or a tie. If the legend states
that the 2 is barred and it is rolled on the come-out, the
bettor is unaffected. The chips remain in place until a decision
is met on a subsequent roll. Some places bar the three, which
increases the house vig.
The house edge on Don't Pass is 1.4 percent, virtually identical
to the bet on Pass. The house vig becomes 4.39 percent in
places where they bar the 3. If this is the case, Don't Pass
is to be avoided.
The bet is only accepted before the come-out roll, and can
be withdrawn anytime afterwards. Naturally, it is a mistake
to withdraw after the come-out, when the shooter is trying
to roll a point and the probabilities greatly favour Don't
Pass.
The chips go on the "don't pass" area, which should
contain a picture of two die adding up to either 2 or 12 with
the word "BAR" next to them.
-Don't Pass Plus Laying The Odds-
After the shooter has established a point, some
online casinos allow Don't Pass bettors to bet that the shooter
will crap-out before repeating on the point. The don't pass
bettor must give them:

Some casinos require a Don't Pass bet of $30
(or a multiple). Some places allow larger bets on Free Odds
than on Don't Pass, but only large enough to produce winnings
equal to the Don't Pass bet. Some permit the bettor to double
the Don't Pass bet, but it can involve betting as much as
$90, although it reduces the house vig to only .459 percent.
When the bettor is only allowed to bet single odds, the house
percentage is between .69 and .83 percent, depending on the
online casino.
