Keno-
The Draw and Betting Limits
|
-The Draw-
The draw is conducted by a caller, and the numbers
are drawn from a device called a goose. The goose is a round,
clear plastic container containing eighty ping-pong balls
numbered from 1 to 80 to correspond to the numbers on the
tickets. There's a board that lights up the numbers that were
called.
-Betting Limits-
Most online Casinos have a minimun bet of either
seventy cents or a dollar. Although there's a maximum bet
allowed on a single-straight ticket, it isn't like a limit
in the same manner as the table maximum at other games. On
each keno ticket you will find a small print statement that
pretty much says the Casino won't pay out more than $50 000
in winnings on any one Keno game, no matter what happens.
This is so that people don't fill out many identical tickets
and then take it to different keno writers, betting the limit
on each one. If the total amount won on the game exceeds this
sum, the house will prorate the $50 000 amoung all the big
winners. For example, if two players were to win the $50 000
prize, they would each recieve half of it-$25 000. In this
way the house protects itself from catastrophic loss on any
one game, just as it does at the table games- by imposing
maximum limits on individual bets.
