Craps-
Layout and Procedure
|
-Layout-
The craps table is about the size of a regulation
pool table, but has high sides to keep to two dice in bounds.
The inner walls are cushioned to allow the dice to bounce
energetically off the wall. The pattern of betting possibilities
never includes all possible bets, the surface varies with
local or regional policy. Players place bets with the help
of a dealer. The presiding authority is the boxman. He monitors
the transactions between the dealers and players. He makes
sure the dealers place chips where the players designate,
and make sure they make accurate payoffs. When a disagreement
arises between players and dealers, the boxman resolves it.
The player usually gets the benefit of the doubt on first
complaint. The dealers usually keep the game going at a pace
comfortable to all players, so there bets can all be placed
appropriately.
-Procedure-
The way craps works, there is no limit to the
amount of players on a table at one time. (Limits will only
be set by individual casino servers). Everyone can bet on
or against a successful roll of the dice. The shooter can
bet against himself, as the other players can bet on his rolls.
Everyone at the table can be included, and the limits to your
bets are boundless!
