Craps- Terminology

It is very important to understand the words used in the game before you can understand the game.
A pass is a successful roll or series of rolls. People betting on the shooter being successful can place their bets on pass. Those who want to bet that he won't be successful place their bets on dont pass.
The first roll in a sequence is called a come out. If the dice comes out a 7 or an 11, it's called a natural, and everone who bet on pass wins automatically and a new come out is rolled. If the come out is a 4,5,6,8,9, or 10, that number becomes the shooter's point. The player wins if the point occurs before a 7 is rolled. If so, pass wins, and a new come out is rolled. If a 7 appears after the come out and before the point re-occurs, the player has sevened-out, pass bets lose, don't pass bets win, and a new come out is rolled.
When the come out is a 2,3, or 12 - a crap - all pass bets lose and most don't pass bets win. Bets can be placed before each roll of the dice.
