In Keno there are many different types of tickets.
Some are more expensive than others but with less chance of
losing. Below are just some of them.
-Straight Tickets-
The straight ticket is the most commonly used
ticket. Since the player may mark from 1 to 15 spots on the
ticket, there are 15 different kinds of straight tickets.
The most popular ones are the six and eight spot tickets,
where the player picks either six or eight numbers and it
is then written on the right margin of the ticket, however
many numbers where chosen. The player marks the numbers with
and X and then writes his wager in the upper right hand corner.
Dollar and cent signs are not used in writing the amount wagered,
instead the cents are distinguished by being written smaller
and being underlined.
-Way Tickets-
Another type of ticket is a way ticket. Suppose
a player wished to make several six-spot bets. Instead of
filling outa whole bunch of tickets or circling different
six number groups on the same ticket, he might proceed as
follows. He circles three different three-numbered groups.
He then indicates that he wishes to bet each of theses groups
in combination with each of the others to form every possible
six-spot bet. He does it by writing 3/6 in the margin. The
denominator means that he wants to play six-spot bets, while
the numerator means that the groups he has circled may be
combined in three different ways to form six-spot tickets:
the first group combined with the second group, the first
group combines with the third and the second group combined
with the third. Below the fraction he writes the amount he
would like to wager on each of these ways.
-King Tickets-
A King number is a single number circled so
that it forms a group by itself. Any ticket containing one
or more king numbers is called a king ticket. The simplest
king ticket is one in which several numbers have been marked
by the player, only one of which is circled. The circled number
is the king number, while the uncircled numbers form the field.
Each number in the field is called a pawn. If the ticket contained
nine marked numbers, one of which is circled, it would represent
an eight-spot bet on all the uncircled numbers plus a nine-spot
bet on all the maked numbers including the king. When several
groups are circled, one of which is the king, the king number
is intended to play in every possible combination with the
other groups. Remember that a king number can never play by
itself, omly in combinations.A ticket can also have more than
one king number.
